eBay seller integration
This section was updated on October 9, 2026. Spicy Bears Inventory is an internal tool for our own store. When the store owner authorizes it through eBay, we use listing, order and transaction information to reconcile products, available stock and accounting records. The initial integration reads information and prepares review reports; it does not automatically change eBay listings or inventory.
eBay API responses may include buyer information. Our order adapter removes buyer names, contact details, delivery addresses and buyer account identifiers before saving order snapshots or inventory records. The records we retain include listing, order and transaction IDs, product SKUs, dates, quantities, statuses and financial amounts needed for reconciliation and accounting.
The store owner signs in directly on eBay and grants access through OAuth. We do not collect the seller’s eBay password. Application credentials and authorization tokens are stored privately and are not included in public pages or reconciliation reports. Seller snapshots and inventory records are currently stored in our local application environment.
We also receive eBay account-deletion notifications, which can contain an eBay username or account identifiers. Our notification receiver verifies the notification and encrypts these identifiers for review. Netlify processes the notification requests, and a separate Supabase database stores the encrypted review inbox. Pending requests are reviewed to identify and handle affected retained personal data. When a review is resolved, its encrypted identifiers are removed from the inbox; notification receipt and review metadata remain. Receiving a notification alone does not mean that all affected data has already been deleted.
For questions about this integration or requests concerning your personal data, please use our contact page. We review requests concerning information we hold. Records that must be retained for administrative, legal or security purposes may be retained as described elsewhere in this policy.
